3G-tech internet service soon, PM tells JS

Minister Sheikh Hasina Wednesday at Jatiya Sangshad said the 3-G
internet service will be available to the country’s common people
shortly, helping them make a faster and multidimensional move on the
information superhighway.
The premier, whose flagship scheme is ‘digital Bangladesh, came up with the disclosure while speaking in parliament during the PM’s question hour.
Replying to a supplementary question from lawmaker Tanveer Shakil Joy the ruling Awami League president told the House that necessary works are already underway.
She added: “Necessary tasks have been started to introduce the 3G-technology-based internet service. And the service will come in use soon as we have advanced far in this direction.”
The premier also told the parliament that the sample of Bangladeshi-produced laptop was produced before the cabinet during its last meeting.
Replying to a question of Shamsul Haque Chowdhury she said, “We will try to start tender process soon for establishing deep-sea port. But it is not possible to give specific time at this moment.”
