The Sahabah RadiAllahu Anhum had the qualities below and making effort to gain these qualities will help a person gradually follow complete Islam, InshaAllah:

1st part of Kalima-"Laa Ilaha Illallah"- Meaning - "no one is worthy of worship except Allah". Purpose - Allah is the only Creator & everything else are His creations. Creations cannot do anything without Permission & Help of Allah. Allah can do anything & everything without help of creations.

2nd part of Kalima-"Muhammadur Rasulullah"- Meaning - "Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the messenger of Allah". Purpose - success in this world (before death) & Akherat (life after death) is ONLY in following the Orders of Allah according to Sunnah (the way shown by Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam).

Purpose of Namaz/Salat/Prayer - bring complete obedience of Allah in Namaz/Salat to every action of our lives.

Purpose of Ilm/knowledge - it is Fardh (mandatory) for everyone to learn enough knowledge to be able to recognize Halal (Permissible or Order of Allah) & Haram (Prohibited by Allah).

Purpose of Zikir - to bring the awareness of constant/continuous presence of Allah in our heart.

Purpose of Ikram-e-Muslimin - sacrifice our own needs to fulfill the needs of other Muslims.
